Memorizing Quran Requirement for Becoming Prayer Leader in Jordan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A new requirement has been added for those in Jordan who wish to become prayer leaders and imams in mosques.

 

According to al-Madina News website, only those who have learned at least half of the Quran by heart can lead prayers or deliver sermons at mosques and places of worship in the country.

The new prerequisite has recently been added to the list of requirements for prayer leaders in the Arab country.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a majority Muslim country in the Middle East.

Around 95 percent of its population follows Sunni Islam.
